Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Banana Bread
Moist and fluffy banana bread with a chocolate cookie dough filling
Remember during COVID when we were all making banana bread at home? Well, I’m still making them. It’s definitely in my top five most common things I bake. Recently, I’ve been exploring different varieties of banana bread, and I loved how this one turned out. It’s a rich, moist, and fluffy banana bread stuffed with chocolate chip cookie dough, and it tastes as amazing as it sounds.
INGREDIENTS:
four very ripe bananas
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
a small batch of chocolate chip cookie dough (a link to my recipe)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Prepare your cookie dough. Feel free to use whatever recipe you like, but here’s my small batch recipe for chocolate chip cookies for two. You can also use store-bought cookie dough for this.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add your bananas and mash them with a fork. Then add all your wet ingredients and sugar and mix until well combined.
3. Add your dry ingredients, then mix until no more dry flour is visible.
4. Pour 1/2 of the banana bread batter into your loaf pan, then add small chunks of the cookie dough throughout the batter. Top with the remaining batter, then add a few small pieces of cookie dough to the top. Feel free to add as little or as much cookie dough as you’d like.
5. Bake at 350F for roughly 60 min or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out mostly clean with a few crumbs. If you added a lot of cookie dough in step 4, the loaf will need a little longer time in the oven.
6. Let the loaf cool in the pan for ~ an hour, then slice and enjoy!
