INGREDIENTS (~9 rolls)
Dough:
2 1/4 cups flour
1 large egg
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tsp yeast
2 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup butter (softened/barely melted)
Topping:
4 tbsp melted butter
3 tbsp chopped garlic
1tbsp parsley
DIRECTIONS
1. Add all the ingredients for the dough into a large bowl. All purpose flour or bread flour will work. If you’re using melted butter, make sure it’s not hot and only warm to the touch, or else it’ll kill the yeast. Mix everything until combined, then cover and let rest for ten min, it’s okay if the dough looks shaggy at this point.
2. After letting the dough rest, go back and knead for about 10 min or until smooth. If the dough is too sticky, add a little bit of flour into the dough and knead again. Then cover and leave it out in a warm place to double in size, this will take about 2-3 hours.
3. Once the dough has doubled in size, punch out the air and divide dough into 9 pieces. Roll each piece in your palms until you get a smooth ball. Flour your hands so the dough doesn’t stick.
4. Place the dough balls into your baking tray, cover and let rest for 30 min.
5. In the meantime, prepare the garlic butter mixture by melting 4 tbsp of butter, then add in 3 tbsp chopped garlic (or garlic powder) and 1 tbsp of parsley.
6. Brush the butter over the rolls, then bake at 350F for 25-30 min or until golden.
7. When the rolls are done, immediately brush them with some more melted butter, then enjoy these fluffy rolls warm :)
